Zippity Doo's Kids Hair Products Review and Giveaway!

   ******This Giveaway is now Closed******
I'll never forget the afternoon that I watched my best friend Clarie's mom comb through her daughters hair as she picked out lice and nits. Lice had broken out at our school that week and we all came home with letters in our daily folders warning our parents.

Of course, by the time those letters made it home, many kids already had it. My brother even ended up with it and the smell of that tar shampoo my mom had to use was just awful.

When it comes to things like Lice, as a parent I like to lean towards the preventative side of things. So when Zippity Doo's offered to send me their line of children's hair products that help to prevent Lice, I said yes.

One thing I loved about these products from the time I opened the box is that they are made from Natural Ingredients. You won't find any tar or harsh chemicals here. That is a big plus for me. I don't want to use anything on Jackson that could harm him (now, or in the future).

I was given 1 Shampoo, 1 Conditioner, 1 Shield Spray, 1 Styling Gel, and 1 Leave-In Detangler to try. Each product has it's own unique blend of natural ingredients like Rosemary, Tea Tree, and Cinnamon. As you can imagine, they smell pretty good. I was not crazy about the way the styling gel smelled, but I was impressed because it had a good hold in Jackson's hair the day we used it.

I was hesitant to use the Shampoo at first, only because although I knew these products are made for children, the bottle did not say that said it was tear-free. I went ahead and just used it with caution, and best I could tell the shampoo is tear-free...but I think the label should say so in the future.

The shampoo and conditioner lathered well and rinsed out easily. Jackson's hair smelled nice even after it was dry.

Finally, I love the concept of the Shield Spray, which can really come in handy if your child attends playgroup, daycare, or school. You can use this spray on almost anything to discourage Lice and other insects from infesting your child's things like hats, backpacks, camping equipment, and clothes. The Shield Spray will be in our camping essentials bag from now on!
